What You’ll Do:
As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in creating value for our customers by building data solutions. Your responsibilities will include performing data engineering tasks to build, maintain, test, and optimize a scalable data architecture. This involves extracting, transforming, and loading data into data platforms, making it usable for data analysts and scientists. Additionally, you will:
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of the bank’s data structures and metrics, advocating for necessary changes to support product development.
- Practice DevOps adoption in the delivery of data engineering, proactively perform root cause analysis, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate closely with core technology and architecture teams to enhance data knowledge and develop data solutions.
- Gain a clear understanding of data platform cost drivers to build cost-effective and strategic solutions.
- Source new data using appropriate tooling and integrate it into the overall solution to meet customer needs.
Skills You’ll Need:
To succeed in this role, you should have at least five years of relevant experience, with a strong understanding of data usage and dependencies across teams and end customers. You should also have experience extracting value and features from large-scale data.
Additionally, the following skills and qualifications are desirable:
- Strong hands-on experience with the AWS Cloud platform.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, with exposure to tools like Terraform.
- Experience in ETL technical design, including data quality testing, cleansing, monitoring, data warehousing, and data modeling.
- Knowledge of programming languages and understanding of data and software engineering fundamentals.
- Good knowledge of modern code development practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage proactively with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualification:
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate certification (desirable but not essential).
